For me, staying with a family was the best and fastest way to learn Spanish.

My homestay in Santiago was really great. I stayed with a nice family; dad, mom and 2 kids, who made me feel like a part of the family. They really made sure that I had a great time in Santiago and that I never felt alone. They helped me find my way in the city and the dad even did a ´practice´ walk to school with me the night before my first day!

For me, staying with a family was the best and fastest way to learn Spanish. Everyday you wake up with Spanish (my hostmom got me breakfast in bed everyday!) and if you came home after school there is always somebody to practice with. My family was always patient and helped me when i was struggling with spanish. Without this family, my experience in Santiago would have been good, but not so great as it has been!

The goal of our methodology is to make people comfortable using their new language in practical situations encountered in everyday life, such as travel, conducting business, meeting people, using the telephone, meetings, participating in a conversation effectively, etc.


Students take both written and oral evaluations when they start their program to determine their level, and throughout the program the teachers at our school are constantly evaluating students’ progress.


As proof of our students’ efforts they will also receive a certificate at the end of the course. This states the language they studied, their level, and its location (along with any other information the student deems applicable).


Escuela Bellavista bases its language levels on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (A1, A2, B1….)


Our aim is that you and the teachers speak only in Spanish in class, so we try not to use other languages in the classroom and this stimulates the student to start thinking in Spanish. Students are always surprised at how easily they learn!

Our methodology focuses on speaking and listening. Grammar, reading, and writing are all included, but we teach it through a very practical approach without being tedious, boring, or repetitive. We believe the key to learning a new language is communication.

Studying Spanish at Escuela Bellevista has been a wonderful experience. My husband and I took classes for one month and our Spanish grew so much. We loved our teachers Lidia and Sergio! He two months of intensive Spanish courses I took here left me practically speaking like a native. Teachers are top-notch and very nice, there is always a tea time between classes, great way to make new friends from around the world, and it's in a great neighborhood. If you're looking for a private teacher I highly recommend Maria Christina Herrera!


The staff is friendly and is concerned about all the details. I was forced to speak Spanish all the time. They focus in grammar, pronunciation and speaking, so if you want to get fluency in Spanish, you should give yourself an opportunity to study with them.

Lincoln International Academy was founded in 1976 by Mr. Robert G. Seaquist (1917-1999) and Mrs. Verónica Caroca who were in charge of the school until the year 2000. Since 2001, their son John F.
